ANTIQUE FIREARMS, PISTOLS, REVOLVERS and RIFLES
Antique Firearms do NOT require any form of licence by virtue of Section 58 of the Firearms Act 1968 (as amended) provided they are NOT to be used AND there is no readily available ammuntion for them. So a 100 year old rifle such as a Martini Henry in .450 does NOT need a licence but a 100 year old Martini Henry in .303 does need a Firearms Certificate. However if you intend to shoot the .450 Martini Henry you will need a licence. The list a calibres deemed 'Obsolete' can be found in the annexe of the 'Guidance to the Police' issued by the Home Office.
